I went to see Paper Town last night, a film I’ve been wanting to see for a while, although I did want to read the book before I watched the film but that kind of failed. I was also curious as to what Cara Delevingne would be like as an actor, as she is taking on a lead role.

For those of you who don’t know, Paper Towns is based on the book Paper Towns by John Green, author of the hit book The Fault In Our Stars. Margo is Quentin’s neighbor, a girl who loved mysteries so much that she became one herself. After taking him on an all night adventure, Margo suddenly disappears. Quentin thinks Margo is leaving clues for him to find her, so him and his friends decide to go on an adventure to try and find her, but will the result be what Quentin wants. A film that will take you through all sorts of emoticons at both ends of the scale.

Cara Delevingne did a faultless job of playing Margo, her acting was natural and the part was literally made for her. It will be interesting to see what she will be like in films to come. Prepare yourself for quotes like this, ” It’s a shame, don’t you think? All the strings inside him broke.” Another one is “At some point, you gotta stop looking up at the sky, or one of these days you’ll look back down and see that you floated away, too.” As well as touching your heart it will also make you laugh throughout. This is a film to remember and we can all take something away from this, to teach ourselves.

If there is anything bad that I had to say about this film and this really is being picky, its probably the soundtrack. I think the music could be more fitting and meaningful to the film. I think the lyrics could be more fitting to the mood, than what was given as the music kind of just acted like background noise more than complimenting the film. This didn’t ruin the film though, it just would of made it better with more of a remembered soundtrack.
