Pancetta Spaghetti

This is a recipe I had found on Pinterest, but unfortunately I deleted it before I got the chance to have a look, who put it up. I’ve never had pancetta before, so I thought it would be good to try something new, however I don’t think I’ll be having it again, as this dish has an acquired taste, and it just happens that I didn’t like it. However I thought I’d still post it on here as some of you may like it, or you could put your own choice of meat in. You can also add garlic in as well, but in all honesty, I didn’t do this because I had work in the morning. As gross as it sounds, it doesn’t matter how many times you brush your teeth, pieces of chewing gum you chew, garlic is impossible to get rid of in the morning. There is nothing worse than talking to someone and feeling you ate the meal they had last night, because you can smell their breath. As mean as that sounds, we’ve all been there either way. Leave the smelly stuff till the weekends! I actually ended up having beans on toast in the end, or shall I say bread and butter, which my boyfriend thinks is gross, but I like my weird ways. However back to the subject, pancetta is like marmite, you’ll either love it or hate it. I’m really selling this dish right? Worst blog post ever. However next week I’m feeling a chocolate cake recipe, for all the people with sweet tooth’s out there. I am also going to be eating more healthier and was thinking of sharing some of my meal plans and healthier recipes, so if your interested in that, please let me know.

You Will Need:

  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 40g parmesan cheese
  • pepper
  • 150g pancetta
  • 200g spaghetti
  •  Salt

Method

  1. Put the egg yolks in to a bowl, along with the grated parmesan and pepper. With a fork, mix well and put to one side.

2. Cut the pancetta in to small pieces, if you haven’t already bought it chopped up. Cook the spaghetti in a large pan of salted water. Heat some oil in a saucepan and stir in the pancetta.

3. Add the spaghetti in the frying pan and season with pepper. Then add the egg mixture. (I just realised I didn’t take a picture of this…oops! Must have been concentrating!) Serve and enjoy!
