A few weeks ago I took my sister to watch Finding Dory and after much persuading from her, I finally took her. Just kidding! I couldn’t wait to take her, as I’ve been wanting to see this film since I first knew about it! (which has been almost a year and a half I think!)

Finding Dory is about the very much loved character from Finding Nemo, of course being Dory. One day during Nemo’s class, Dory has a flash back that she has a family. She decides to look for them, however her short term memory loss becomes an obstacle. Marlin and Nemo begin to help her but when Nemo almost gets killed, Marlin and Dory have an argument, Dory goes off on her own adventure to find them, but ends landing herself in trouble, which leaves her questioning wether she’ll ever find her parents again.

I thought the story line was really and easy to follow if you are a young child. There’s also a good amount of adult humour in too and although we all know how the film is going to end, it’s a joy to watch and also meet some new already much loved characters along the way. As the bar was set high from Finding Nemo, this makes a pretty good sequel and shows how capable Pixar are of making good follow ups. For those who didn’t want to watch it because it might disappoint, you won’t be disappointed, it’s worth a watch.

I will however tell you what was weird about this film. It is set from a year on from Finding Nemo, which I found quite strange for a film we’ve been waiting for over a decade for. However this is no biggy and is quickly forgotten about as you sit through the film and obviously children aren’t going to know this, so it doesn’t really matter.

My Film Rating: 8/10

  1. I really wanted to see this at the cinema but I didn’t have someone younger to go with, I think a 23 yr old would get a few glances at going to see this haha. But I will definitely watch it online at some point, especially with an 8/10 rating from you!

  2. So it seems you and I have quite differing opinions on this film! Don’t get me wrong I’m a huge fan of Disney/Pixar and have Finding Nemo almost memorised and I know a lot of people say that but seriously.. Yet Finding Dory just didn’t do it for me. I’d be very curious to see what you’d have to say about my review! If you could take a few minutes to check out my blog I’d really appreciate it! and then if you so desire you could rip it to shreds. Thanks for sharing your review by the way! https://reelviewsbysara.wordpress.com
