Hello everyone! I hope you have had a really good Christmas and New Year, and are feeling very motivated and positive for this year. I cannot remember the last time I did an outfit post, it must of been years ago but something inside me wanted to do one. I think because I use to love fashion, and then I got myself in a bit of a rut and now feel like I’m 3/4 of the way out of that rut, so now is the right time to start posting outfit of the days again. I think I much prefer Winter to Summer. I love that I can hide myself in baggy jumpers in the colder months, whereas summer, I can’t do that. However this summer, I’m hoping I’ll be able to feel more comfortable in summery clothes, as one of my goals this year, is to get into better shape. If some of you follow me on Instagram, you will see that I have taken up boxing, but that is for another post.

(I need to clean my mirror!)

I had actually bought this top before Christmas. I’ve had my eye on it for a while, but it kept going in and out of stock, however I eventually managed to get my hands on it. I am surprised it is full price, as I was expecting to see it in the January sales when I went to go and find the link. I haven’t actually done any January sales shopping, it’s been quite a busy start to January and so I’ve not really had time. I also don’t really like shopping at this time of the year, mainly because whenever you see sales, you see crowds, and its just manic. Not only that but clothes are just squeezed on rails and falling on the floor, so if I was to do any sales shopping, it would be online. At the moment though, I don’t really need anything, nor seen anything that really makes me want to get it. Although usually that wouldn’t be an excuse!

I bought this jumper just before Christmas. I was really needing some new jumpers, and I haven’t shopped with Topshop in a while, so I had a browse. Besides this jumper, they have a lot of really nice things, and I must have a look at their website, or go into the shop more often. Anyways I found this jumper, it cost £25, which I know some people will say is pricey, for what it is, but I know I will get use out of it, for the next few years. It is a little out of my comfort zone, as I don’t gravitate towards bright colours. Those who know me, know that I would happily live in all black. This year though, as one of my new years resolutions, I want to try and go out of my fashion comfort zone a bit, and wear things, and colours, that I wouldn’t normally wear. That’s what I like about this top, as much as its black, it also has yellow on it, which breaks the black up.

The style is actually cropped, but I personally wouldn’t wear it cropped myself, as I’m not that confident. However I do think in the colder summer evenings, it would look really nice with a pair of black jean shorts. That’s what makes this top so versatile, because you can wear it all year round. I think it would also look cute tucked into a pair of high waisted jean shorts. I’m going to wear it tucked into skirts, and under pinafore dresses, like the one in the pictures. I wasn’t sure to start off with whether this top went with the grey, but after staring at myself in the mirror for a solid 10 mins, and trying other outfits on, and then sticking this one back on, I decided to just leave it on. Speaking for myself, I think it actually looks alright. I would usually wear just a plain black top underneath, but adding some yellow, just makes it less dark, and I really love the cuffs of the top as well, being block yellow. I chose these monochrome shoes to go with the black and white stripes on the top. I felt again, it separates the colours on the bottom half. I can see myself wearing this outfit a lot more over the colder months.

I think yellow is definitely going to be the in colour over the next few months, so I would look out for yellow statement pieces. I think its quite nice to have a bright colour in fashion at the moment, when you see a time like Winter as dull and dark colours, as much as I love this season. I am actually really excited to see what trends there will be this year, and try them out, I’m definitely going to be trying a lot of them out, and be more adventurous. I’m excited to see what this year brings! I do want to get back into fashion, as when I first started blogging, it played a big part of my blog, and I really enjoyed it, so that is kind of my aim this year. Again I want to post on this blog more and make it a regular thing, so hopefully that will happen. I definitely feel more motivated this year, as my life is just about on the right track, after a difficult year, so here’s to a positive year!

Do you like outfit posts? What would you like to see more of on here?
