Goodbye 2016 Part 1

I have read way too many of peoples posts already on their review on 2016 and they have not particularly been good. My year has had its ups and you’ll see why when I get on with this post, but has also had a lot of downs, which I’m sure you know something has been wrong, because I didn’t post nowhere near as much as the year before. However I am determined to make this a really good year, with a different outlook, last year could of 9definitely been better.  Enough of that though, here is my highs and lows of 2016, from January to June.

January

(When your the only ones at the cinema!)

Feels like such a long time ago now, 2016 started off with some nominations, one for the lovely blogger award, so thank you to the bloggers who nominated me for that award. I also took part in the UK blog awards and again, thank you to everyone who voted for me in that, unfortunately I didn’t make it to the finals but it was a good experience and I would do it again. Speaking of blogging, I stuck to blogging 4 days a week and everything went to plan, which I was very pleased with. This included a lot more recipes and food posts, that all seemed to go down very well and I got a good response from you all.  I also watched my first film of the year, that being The Revenant. Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy, are both 2 of my favourite characters and they did not disappoint with this film, even if it was a bit long winded. I’m not complaining though, more screen time to see them both haha! What else happened in January? Well there was also unfortunately the first celebrity death of many more to come and that was Alan Rickman. Honestly, a little bit of my heart sank when he died, he was a great actor and I loved his work. “What a caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly.”

February

motokross

February started off with a murder mystery evening and if you haven’t been to one, they are so much fun! This was the best one I’ve been to so far and it was a beautiful setting. I also went to Arenacross with my boyfriend, which was my present to my boyfriend for Valentines Day. Arenacross is motocrossing and I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it but I loved it, so much so, we’re going again next month. Another thing we did was go to the Galleries Of Justice in Nottingham with Most Haunted, and was there till the early hours of the morning. That was one of my favourite ghost hunts we did and it was a really interesting night. However this was also the month I was told I had anxiety, something that I’ve had a feeling about for a very long time. I’ll go into detail in a separate post,  but it really took its toll on me last year, and it was so draining. I carried on blogging 4 days a week though, as I didn’t want to be a disappointment and I was determined to carry on with my schedule, which I did.

March

March kicked off with me finally getting round to watching Pretty Little Liars and seeing what the hype was all about, and I must say I am all caught up now and I love it! I don’t know what I’m going to do after the last season of it finishes, I don’t want it to end! Maybe I’ll just hibernate. I also went to a bike museum in Birmingham with my boyfriend, which I got him for Christmas. There was soooo many bikes from different decades, and it was a good afternoon out. March was also a month for lots of family time and it was lovely, it was nice to be less busier for a change. We spent Easter with everyone and I also got to see my little sister swimming and I’m so proud of her, she’s amazing!  Blogging was good too, still kept to schedule and even introduced different categories for different days of the week, so if I did baking posts every Monday, and you didn’t like baking posts, then you’d know not to read my posts on a Monday. I always try to improve my blog, I just want it to be the best it can be for you all.

April

April was a good month, I collaborated with Spooky Eyes on their wide range of contact lenses, which was very cool, and I’m thankful for the opportunity. Hard work pays off, and it’s so nice to be recognised. If you are willing to put the effort in, then you will see good results.  I also got to see one of my favourite bands Little Mix, who put on an amazing show, they were so good live and I would definitely recommend going to see them, as I would definitely go back to one of their concerts again.

May

me-and-stuart

May was half good and half where it all went wrong. Me and my boyfriend moved house again, to a home I never thought we would be able to get, as I thought it was out of the equation. That was very overwhelming itself. When I looked back at my recap of 2015, May again was where it all went wrong again that year. May is jinxing my years! May was the month were my anxiety seemed to have got worse. I don’t want to keep going on about anxiety but anxiety was a big part of last year. Everything got a bit overwhelming, with moving house and work and it just all gets a bit too much. Then before I know it, it’s out of my control.

June

In June I went on holiday with my boyfriend and it came just at the right time, I just needed to take some time out and get away from everything. We went to a stunning part of Cornwall and stayed in a beautiful apartment on a cliff. I loved this holiday so much, Cornwall is definitely my favourite place in the UK. It was also my 21st Birthday and I was so overwhelmed by the gifts, cards and messages I received. My 21st was one to remember and I might get called boring, but I stayed sober for the whole time. I spent a lot of time with family in June, going bowling, celebrating my little nieces 1st birthday, there was a lot of good things happening that month. From May the 18th to June the 19th, I hadn’t done any blogging at all, in fact I took a break. Everything had just been crazy busy, but I did start blogging again at the end of the month.

So that is part 1 of my recap of 2016, I wanted to do it in 2 parts because I thought this post could turn out pretty lengthy otherwise. I hope it’s been okay!

  1. Sounds like quite an interesting year! I LOVE Pretty Little Liars too! It will be so sad when it’s over 😦 And I’m going to see Little Mix this year yayy!! I’m sorry you’ve been struggling with anxiety – I suffer too and it sucks 😦 Looking forward to part 2! ❤ x

    1. Thank you! I do, I wish I didn’t watch it as quick now, because it feels like forever to wait for the new one! You are going to love their concert! It’s pretty bad isn’t it, I just wish more people would understand, instead of just calling it silly 😦 thank you for your lovely comment 🙂
