First of all I apologise for the lack of posts lately, however I am writing posts for the days I haven’t posted and posting them on the days they should have been posted, so if you are interested, you can have a look at last week where I hadn’t posted much and there should be a few more posts there now. Does that make sense? The reason for this is that I have been working from 6am-5pm and the time I usually write my blog posts, I’ve just been so tired to do so. Moving on to today’s post where I shall tell you 10 personal lessons I’ve learnt so far in my life.
1. You Can’t Please Everyone
You can’t do it. No matter what you do, there will always be someone who isn’t happy. I think this is a lesson I am still learning myself, as I like to think I can please everyone, but I am learning. If I’m honest it gets really tiring trying to do so and gets really stressful trying to live up to other people’s standards. There’s a quote by Bill Cosby that says “I don’t know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone”.
2. You Don’t Always Get What You Want
I’m not someone who constantly wants something however I am someone who wants to plan everything. If I don’t have a plan then the not knowing of what is going to happen worrys me. No matter how hard you work and how much effort you put in, not everything is going to work the way you want it. This is something I struggle with sometimes. We all seem to have high expectations of what our life should be like but sometimes it takes time, sometimes some of those expectations don’t even happen and that’s okay. Sometimes we have to try a few things before we find the right direction.
3. Nobody’s Perfect
We shouldn’t let people judge us, we have nothing to prove, we should be who we are. We were born to be real not to be perfect. There is no perfect person, perfect image, perfect personality, so none has the right to criticise you and put you down.
What lessons have you learnt?
