It’s always good when you have younger siblings to go to the cinema with, although even if I didn’t, I think at 20 years old, I would still go to the cinema to watch kids films, because they are the best kind of films! I’ve seen Hotel Transylvania 1 before but I really wanted to see the second one, because I loved the first one so much and also because sometimes sequels can be rubbish, so I was intrigued.

Drac is worried after his daughter gives birth to a half human, half vampire baby, because the baby isn’t showing any vampire signs. Mavis thinks that its best for her baby, (Dennis) if they lived around humans, so Mavis decides to visit the in laws with Johnny. While Mavis is doing this, Drac and his friends Frank, Murray, Wayne and Griffin, put Dennis through a monster in training boot camp. Little did they know that Drac’s old school grumpy dad, Vlad is about to pay an unexpected visit to the hotel. When Vlad finds out that Dennis is not pure blood, things get out of hand, can anyone save the day?

This was so much better than the first one, I loved it so much. It wasn’t a case of all the funny bits were in the trailer, it was laugh out loud all the way through. There was a bit of adult humor as well for the grown ups. I had no idea that Selena Gomez was in it, so that was good, as sometimes when you know singers are in films, it can distract you a bit from the film, but you couldn’t tell.

There isn’t really anything I would change about the film, if I was to be really picky, it would be that I think they could of gone more in depth with the plot. For example the monster boot camp, as the scenes from that were hilarious, however if they were to extend, then they would have to make the film longer, which is hard when its targeted at kids, if you make it any longer, will they stay in their seats any longer. That would be the only thing.

My Film Rating: 9/10
