Hello everyone, I hope you’re all having a great weekend. I thought instead of the normal self-improvement/growth posts, it would be quite fun to do a new kind of get to know me post. It has been years (5 in fact!) since I have done one of these and thought since I’ve started blogging again this year, it would be a nice way for new and old readers to find out a bit more about me. These are quite old school posts but they were and still are some of the posts I enjoy reading the most as you get to learn so much about the person behind the screen and also I’m probably quite nosey! They are also lighthearted and more upbeat to read. Thinking of 25 facts wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be and I’ve tried to include a variety of things rather than stick to a particular theme. If you have been here long enough then you might know a few already but I also hope you learn something new too! Feel free to leave some facts about you as well in the comment section!
- My hair is naturally a dirty blonde, however I feel like the colour washes me out so I find having blonde highlights work better for me but before that I have been, brown, red and purple!
- I got a placement at a University in London to study dance, however after deferring my place for a year and doing some thinking, I decided it just wasn’t the path for me in the end.
- Staying on the theme of dance the styles I have danced in are, musical theatre, jive, waltz/ballroom, ballet, commercial, contemporary, jazz, Irish, Hungarian, cheerleading, and line dancing but street dancing has always been my favourite.
- It was my blogs 8 year anniversary this year and with some encouragement from a few people, starting it back up again over the last few months has been one of the best decisions I’ve made.
- I hate raisins, sultanas and dates. They are actually disgusting and there is nothing worse than finding a raisin or sultana in something your eating. They ruin many good foods, hence why I bake my own.
- My favourite foods is a difficult choice but probably mash potato, toad in the hole, eggs benedict, crumble and custard or not to sound big headed but my own baking are things I enjoy the most!
- My favourite smell is vanilla or quite a weird one rain. I think its because I find rain calming and so I associate the smell with that. I also appreciate a man who smells really good.
- Some of the best experiences of my life were dancing in the opening and closing ceremony for when the Olympic torch reached Lincoln and cheerleading for England Under 18’s Football team. I still have my pompoms!
- I am not a fan of cooking. I can cook but I don’t have a lot of patience for it, it takes me too long. I love baking and get far more enjoyment out of that.
- I love long walks, museums and trips to the zoo. Exploring in general really does bring me so much happiness, I’m quite simple really but these sort of things I find therapeutic and fill my cup.
- I’m obsessed with Formula 1. It is a dream of mine to watch at least one race in person and I will make it happen. I hate the fact that there is currently another mini break.
- I own more trainers than heels. Although I love my knee high boots and heels, trainers are comfort and they come in so many different styles and can be worn with nearly everything. A must have.
- I have 4 piercings in total. It would have been 5 but one closed up. I have both ear lobes, tragus and belly done. I would like to have another ear piercing I think in future.
- I love music and listen to a wide variety of styles but enjoy bands the most. There isn’t a day where I don’t listen to music whether you’re happy or sad it’s always there for you.
- I’m not very experimentative with makeup and wear it nowhere near as much as I used to. I’ve probably had the same look for years now and mixing different eyeshadows is as good as it gets.
- I am the eldest out of 6 of us. I have a sister, brother, 2 step brothers and 1 step sister. Sometimes I think it would have been nice to have a sibling older than me.
- I actually applied to join the police force, but got so far into the process and failed to get through to the next stage by 2 marks. I blame the percentages maths test. I was gutted.
- I was born in London and have since lived in Milton Keynes, Lincolnshire and Sheffield. I was very young when we moved from London but spent a lot of time there growing up with my grandparents.
- We have not far down the line in the family tree, German Swiss in the family. I would love to visit Switzerland at some point as I’ve seen pictures from my grandparents and it looks beautiful.
- I am scared of spiders, daddy longlegs, clowns, bridges, not making an impact on anyone before I die, lifts, being chased up the stairs haha, things flying around me, china dolls and going in the sea.
- This sounds a bit strange but I like exercises like squats and plank because I like to feel what I’m doing is working and feel the burn, if I can’t feel it then I loose interest.
- My favourite perfume is YSL’s Black Opium, I love the blend of floral and vanilla. I go between this and a really old Versace perfume which is an oldie but goldie called “Red Jeans” smells amazing.
- Nutella is a weakness of mine. On it’s own, on pancakes, strawberries and bananas is also an elite combination, I try not to have it in the house otherwise I will just keep getting a spoonful.
- I hate seeing or hearing people cry and straight away my brain goes into how can I fix this mode. I don’t even have to know them but I feel crying comes from pain and that saddens me.
- My favourite season is Autumn. I love how cold it gets and the darker nights, there’s good things on t.v, the build up to Christmas, Bonfire night, it’s just all so cosy!
Amy x
