This is a film I watched because my boyfriend wanted to see it and he really likes war films, so I decided I’d watch it with him, seeing as he watches a lot of films I want to watch. However I would be lying if I said I wasn’t interested as part of me was, seeing as it was based on a true story.

From the US Navy Chris Kyle is sent to Iraq. His mission? To protects his brother in arms. He then gets the title of “Legend” because of his accuracy and his courageous exploits. However this leaves him in danger and becomes a prime target to be killed. Not only this but Chris finds himself battling on the home front too. Not only does he want to be a good father, he wants to be a good husband. However he finds that he can’t leave war behind. With being a prime target in Iraq, will Chris ever make it home?

Bradley Cooper is unbelievable in this. He really steps it up a notch. I was worried because I’ve only seen him play comical roles such as, The Hangover and Gardians Of The Galaxy. However in this he made it incredibly real for me, portraying great amounts of emotions to the audience. Sienna Miller also plays a really good role of a wife of a soldier. She takes you on an emotional rollercoaster, of what it’s like to go through having someone you love be fighting in the war, not knowing what’s going to happen around the corner, and showing us what it’s like to go through day to day life on your own, pregnancy on your own and bringing up a child on your own.

What I liked about this film was, number one the actors and the emotion they made you feel. This has to be Bradley Cooper’s best performance to date. I liked how realistic they made it and how they gave you more of an understanding of what goes on, behind closed doors. This really is a story of courage, and leaves you on the edge of your seats.

What I didn’t like was some bits were really upsetting. These were parts that were probably quite graphic and probably a shock to me as I wasn’t expecting them to show things over a certain extent. I hope that makes sense as I don’t want to give to much away. If your a sensitive person then you might not like this and also if your a person where things play on your mind, then you won’t like this. Other than that I was pleasantly surprised at this film. If it doesn’t win some kind of an award, I will be very surprised and shocked because it deserves a lot of recognition.

 My film rating : 10/10
