Wow, I cannot believe a year has gone by already! I’m sure it goes by quicker and quicker and this time next year, I’ll be saying the same thing. Although I get told this is what happens as you get older. 2015 has been hard at times, and the busiest I’ve ever had. I can honestly look back and say that I have made the most out of 2015 that I possible can, with many pictures to show. I’ve seen a lot of other bloggers do a recap of their year and thought it was quite a nice little keepsake to look back on, so here it is a recap of 2015!
January started off with loads of hauls, makeup reviews, film reviews and posting every single day. I wanted to post everyday, as I wanted to keep giving content out for you, the readers. I realized after a while that I was committing to something, that I couldn’t keep up with and although I hate to admit it, things got messy and the overall content in my blogs, begun to get sloppy. I noticed that I was doing shorter posts and lack of good quality photography. However being the person I am, and not one to be beaten and give up easily, I decided to carry on and keep trying. However this did show me a lesson and you will find out that I’ve learn’t many lessons when it comes to blogging throughout the year. However blogging wasn’t all that bad, I got a lovely email from a man representing my favourite store, you will all probably know, Ted Baker. It was nice to see that I had been noticed and that he had seen my posts. It was a complete surprise, and made my week. Considering I hadn’t been blogging long, and with it just being a hobby, I had no idea I’d get noticed within 5 months of blogging. Other than that, I enjoyed lots of meals and takeaways out that month, more than I should of actually looking back aha, and good quality time with family, celebrating my sisters birthday and with friends, but also with my boyfriend.
February I tried to keep to my plan of blogging everyday, which happened, there wasn’t a day I missed. I was pleased that I did that as I felt like I had at least achieved some part of what I set out to do. I wrote a few event posts as well, one being a murder mystery I went too. I’ve been to a few now and it’s so much fun, and a good way of getting to meet new people and interact with them. I am actually going to another one soon, as its been too long, which will be at the end of the month, so look out for that post, if it interests you. I also did outdoor laser tag which I’ve never heard of before and it was good fun, but I think its more of a lads thing and would make a good day out for a stag do. This month for me was when I started making new friends and I’m really happy it happened because these are people I’ve taken through to 2016 with me.
March was a good month, I realized I had reached 100 followers, which was a big sense of achievement for me, and I know its only a small figure but I was happy with that, this was what made me think that actually, I wanted my blog to be something more serious. I also went to a dinner dance which was a bit out of my depth, but I enjoyed the night and the food was lovely. Not to mention that Mothers Day was also in March and it was such a lovely day because mine and my boyfriends families went out for a meal together. It’s so nice to have both sides of the family get on and not just for the sake of it. Another incredible thing that had happened in March was the solar eclipse, I have never seen anything so amazing before and something so bright. I’m just glad that despite being at work, I got the chance to see it. However I can’t forget the sad news of the death of Lil Chris. Someone so young and talented had died, his song “checking it out” is something I remember from my childhood and a song that was really catchy! He was gone way too soon.
April was a month I will never forget, one of the reasons being that I got to be a passenger in one of my favourite super cars, the Mclaren. I had a blast and although it was all over within 5 minutes, It was one of the best times I’ve ever had and a memory I will keep with me forever. April was also full of many walks in the countryside and trips to the beach, which I need to do more of this year, its so refreshing and relaxing. This leads me on to geocaching, which was so much fun and encouraged my boyfriend and I to do more exercise, which I want to get back into, as it makes it more enjoyable.
May was a hard month for me for blogging. I had lost all love for it and was contemplating calling it quits. I hated the content I was writing, I thought it was lame and boring. I felt that reading back posts, they were lacking thought, imagination, creativity and this made me hardly blog at all. I am my worst critic. I decided to take some time off in the end and have a good long hard think on what I wanted to do. I am so glad I didn’t call it quits though, as I’m really happy with my blog now, but obviously still looking at ways to improve. I was well overdue a holiday and at the end of May had a week off at my favourite place, Devon.
June again wasn’t a good month for blogging I hardly did any posts again, but I had been planning on making a comeback for July, which I was really looking forward too. Also I had moved out! I never thought I’d do that at the age of 19, but it was a lot of fun house hunting and eventually we had found something that suited us. Don’t get me wrong I miss seeing my family everyday, but they live a 5 minute walk away. On the plus side, I get to watch what I want on T.V and get to be as messy as I want. Not that I can because my boyfriend is completely O.C.D! It was also my birthday, but I was so busy moving, that I didn’t really get to celebrate it. I also got to experience that month a day in the life of a someone from Made In Chelsea. It was so hot that day and I was wearing trousers and a jumper, as it had been pouring with rain all week! I enjoyed it so much though and it was a really good experience that I recommend to all fans of the show.
July was a time I decided to stop messing about and get back in to blogging. I changed the whole look of my website, which I know was for the better, as the appearance needed updating and for now I’m happy about it. I didn’t concentrate a lot on my posts because I generally wanted to concentrate on the appearance. I also took a course on writing blog posts, and this helped a lot and was a big learning curve for me. Moving off the blogging subject, I went to Center Parcs for the first time and I loved it so much. I went on the segways, and this was the funniest thing I have ever done, despite being the worst on them. (Balance is not my strongest!) Cumbria is also such a pretty place too, and I would love to go back there for a longer period of time. I also went on my first ghost night with Most Haunted!
August was one of the best months for me. I got back in to blogging, and changed my schedule to blogging 5 days a week. This is something I can manage and more realistic, and I started loving my blog again. Not only that but despite some not very good months from March to August I manged to have gained almost 400 new followers, which is incredible!
September I enjoyed an amazing 3 hours at a spa. It was a really lovely mother and daughter day. We had so much fun just catching up and using all the facilities, drinking endless amounts of ice tea and eating quite a few biscuits. I enjoyed it so much that for Christmas I got a full days spa for her, my dad and boyfriend, and we’re just all going to make a day of it and go there. I cannot wait!
October was a bit of a quite month, not a lot really happened, blogging was taking a turn for the better and everything was going well. I took some time on posting more things that I knew interested you and let go off some things, that weren’t so interesting. I went on a fright night which was horrible, and I never want to do anything like that again, haha! Other than this, it was a pretty chilled out month and it was needed after being busy almost every weekend!
November blogging really took off, I started getting noticed by different brands and did a few collaborations, this was so exciting and I think even now I’m still buzzing from it. I also started to do my Christmas shopping, which I love doing so much! The best thing about Christmas other than spending time with loved ones, is to watch people open their presents. Towards the end of the month my family received some devastating news and even now, its something quite hard to come to terms with, but I have the best people around me and I’m so thankful for that.
December, it feels so weird writing that as I feel like we’re still in that month, anyways I have reached I think 600 followers! I am so happy about this and I can’t wait for what this year brings. One thing I know though is I’m going to stick to this schedule, to the best I can. I also had an amazing Christmas and I couldn’t of asked for anything more!
So blogging in 2015 was like a roller-coaster, full of lows and highs and I wouldn’t change it for anything. I just want to say again thank you so much for your support and for reading. I hate to think of you as followers, I like to think of you as friends.
Thank you so much everyone, I really mean that
A x
I love these style of blog posts! It looks like you’ve had a busy but fun year! I felt that way with my blog for a while, and I feel alot of people do also, it’s quite common and sometimes it can take that to spur you on almost? and make you fall back in love with writing again and creating great content. Re Lil Chris, i was a big fan and Checking it out was one of my favourite songs ever, defintley gone too soon!

Your welcome! 🙂 Yes I really found that! I have found it hard mainting it with a full-time job, but my job relates so it helps when I do get time to sit down and write. That’s great to hear! I know! Crazy, i was just talking with a friend the other day about it and the even crazier thing is that he’s only a little older than me.

Tell me about it! I also have a full time job and often write my post the evening before or at weekends, but I enjoy doing it. 🙂
