Thank you so much for the response on the new music section of my blog, its been quite overwhelming to say the least, and hello to all my new followers! This platform has grown immensely over the last few weeks, and it makes me so happy. We have always been a lovely little community over on this blog and its so nice we have a lot of new faces join us. I hope this blog helps you in some way or another, whether that’s an escape or something deeper than that. Music has played a massive part in my life, it’s got me through a lot of things and still is doing. Little fun fact for you, I actually use to write my own songs haha. Music is one, if not the most important aspect of my life. So here’s what I’ve been listening to this week.
Jack Garratt – Surprise Yourself
You know when you forget about a song and then you just suddenly think about it, this is that song for me this last week. I absolutely love it. I think it’s a really special song. This song fills my heart every time I hear it. It just makes me feel so emotional as well. I think its because it brings me hope, no matter when I feel like just giving up. The video is so good too, based on peoples fears and ambitions.
Jasmine Thompson – This Years Love
So this one is a cover, and some might argue that its the most dullest song out there, but I really love the lyrics. Love is no secret my biggest fear, and to be honest, I keep saying this but I genuinely don’t know if it exists. People throw the word around like its nothing these days. I feel the lyrics say it perfectly for me. Waiting for that one person who is going to come into your life and make you forget the pain that you’ve experienced, and make you feel I guess, love. Scared of getting to close to someone ever again, and needing reassurance when you do, that the relationship is going to last, but also thinking how completely ridiculous that sounds. Then eventually you grow beyond the fears and give everything you have. I don’t know, I think way too deep haha.
I love the vibe of this song. only heard of it a few days ago from a friend and its been stuck in my head ever since. It’s one of those songs that you just instantly love straight away. I get so lost in my own little world, in this style of music too. Not going to lie, the name is a little weird haha, but you can get past that. Its just one of those songs that instantly calms you. Its a good one for a night walk, but I don’t night walk because I’m too wimpy, so I will just have to make do with sitting in the dark at home, watching the stars.
Billie Eilish – When The Party’s Over
This song is just hfudhfudhfhsfo, I love it so much! Most of the lyrics are so relatable, and the tone its sung in like gets to me. Her music helps me mentally so much too, because its like she can read my mind. The video to this is just amazing as well, definitely check that out.
I actually got this off an advert I think. It’s on my cleaning playlist, and I can’t help but automatically dance to it. It’s super catchy and mysterious, and I just can’t help but sway to it.
Now I do really like the original song, but I actually think I like the cover more. Unpopular opinion maybe? He really does have an amazing voice though, and I think he is quite underrated, and doesn’t get as much credit as he deserves. I’ve actually been listening to quite a lot of his music at the moment, but wanted to pick something that wasn’t popular, and that people would less likely to have heard of. I can imagine this being played in the background of like a film or something, it would definitely add to the drama.
Mumford And Sons – After The Storm
No matter how old this song is, I keep coming back to it. Whenever I hear it, it always makes me think that better times are coming and again is another song that gives me hope. I think its about how to love oneself and overcome any demons you are battling. Another part of it is, meeting someone who won’t let you down, even though you’ve been let down so many times before. It makes me feel like I shouldn’t close myself off to people, I should at least try to be more open. It has quite a positive message and impacts on your mind a good way.
If anyone’s got any suggestions just email me on my contact page or leave a comment. Don’t worry if you think it’s not going to be my thing, I listen to pretty much anything. I’m so glad your really enjoying this new addition. I’ve got a really fun post coming, Saturday/Sunday, which is a bit more light hearted.
