Here are this weeks music choices, there’s quite a few upbeat ones actually haha. I think my favourite song of the week has to be the Flora Cash one, I’m going to check out their other music actually, as I love that song. I was thinking the other day, why I love listening to music so much, as I listen to music at least an hour a day. Infact I am listening to more music at the moment, than watching T.V. I think I see music as a form of therapy, an outlet. Music has a voice, and it speaks to people in different ways. It’s actually been proved that music reduces stress and calms people, and I completely get it. I’d be lost without music.
Here’s something a bit more upbeat for you all. I remember when this came out and the amount of people that said this was about me haha. Definitely not a psycho, but this is a really good one to dance too, I actually choreographed a bit of dance to this over the last week, which was good fun, and also nice to get back into dancing again. It has a good beat, and I really like the tempo changes.
I don’t know why I haven’t included this sooner, it’s one of my favourite, favourite, favourite songs, I think its so stunning. The lyrics have spoken to me, when I couldn’t find the words, especially when she says she doesn’t want to fall in love, if that person doesn’t want to try, and that the love is floating away. Funny one isn’t it love. I think to myself, have I ever been in love, or did I just think I was in love? I like the idea of love, but have I experienced it myself? Probably not. The things I’ve experienced, is not love and I could not love someone who hurt me and constantly belittled me. Woah, I’m getting too deep, there’s probably a blog post idea in there somewhere haha, but yeah if you haven’t already, it is a bit old now, its definitely worth a listen, as I’m sure everyone will find a lyric that is relatable in there.
This song gives me goose bumps and all the feels. I actually got this from the series Killing Eve, where I instantly fell in love with it when I heard it. Infact a few songs I’ve listed in these posts, have actually been from Killing Eve. It’s a powerful song and it gave the most beautiful ending to Killing Eve. “When I try and think about my future.. I just see your face over and over again” was one of the last lines, and this song and it’s lyrics just fitted so perfectly in the background. So simple but so effective at the same time. Does anyone else think there will be another series, or do you think that is it? I’m not so sure..
I think self explantory, it was infact my Birthday last friday and this was the first song I played, I think it’s a good way to enter this new chapter of my life. Feeling super positive and excited to see what is to come, and just going to roll with whatever happens, and take each day as it comes!
Lana Del Rey – National Anthem
Everyone slates me for liking her music, but I love it and her, its just quite dark and her voice is so different, there isnt another artist like her. I think this is probably my second favourite song of hers, but not one that is as well known.
Flora Cash – You’re Somebody Else
Wow. This song is powerful. I only discovered it a few days ago and I love it so much. I think we have all met someone wether its a friend or a partner, who is now a complete stranger, and completely unrecogniseable. It could of been someone who you’ve known for years, but that change can happen so rapidly, they look the same, but what is actually coming out of their mouth is completely different to how they use to be. I can relate to this, there was a friend who I created a lot of memories with and now unfortunately they have become a memory themselves. However you will meet new people, and as harsh as it sounds, as quick as someone exits your life, it doesn’t take long for someone new to enter it too.
I absoloutely love this guy! I have no favourite song of his, as I love them all and probably shouldn’t admit this, but I know every single word to all his songs, and his album is one of my favourites I’ve heard in a very long time. His voice is just unreal, and the next tour he does I’m there, and he’s hilarious! I love that you can here so much emotion in his voice, like you can tell he means every word, compared to other artists who are a bit cliche. He could probably sing about a mug of tea, and I would probably still feel as emotional haha.
