It was date night last Saturday, and we decided to go and see this cheesy film, but not only that, but to see if the critics were right, to give this film bad reviews.
When Jay and Annie first got together, they’re romantic passion for each other was intense. 10 years down the line and 2 kids later, for Annie and Jay, they are still in love however the passion has cooled.
One night without the kids, they decide this is their chance, however to take things up a notch, they decide to create a sex tape. When Jay is told to delete it though, it’s already too late, the most important people in their lives already have it. Will they get the videos back in time before people have already watched it? Will they find out who has a copy? Will they be exposed to the world? That is what you have to find out for yourselves.
The actors for this film were well suited. Cameron diaz and Jason Segel, made this comical and realistic in a way. You were put in their position, of the “oh crap, what are the going to do”. These are both actors/actresses that have been in the acting profession for years and they most certainly didn’t let there acting slip, which was good, as usually cheesy films have people who can’t act in which makes the film awful. No doubt we’ll see more of Cameron and Jason in more films in the future.
What I like about this film is, it definitely has the comedy factor, definitely look out for Jason Segel’s British accent, it’s hilarious! Also the film is just a bit of fun, it’s not intended to be serious, so those critics who are slating it because of that, is a bit silly really as it’s not a serious film. The script was written well, and it’s nice to see married relationships tackled in more of a funnier matter than a depressing one, in a film.
I definitely wouldn’t recommend this to anyone who doesn’t like typical cheesy films, as this is one of them. What was really annoying but to be expected was the fact, this film couldn’t get enough of the brand ‘Apple’. Apple was advertised everywhere. There were Apple iPads, laptops, iPhones, the iCloud and even Siri got a mention. I think every opportunity they had to advertise Apple they did. Once you notice it as well, you start to see throughout the film, so this lets the film down a bit.
My film rating: 8.5/10
