Last night my boyfriend and I spent some time together as he’s been doing 12 hours shifts from 6pm – 6am and I have been doing 11 days 6am – 5pm, its been difficult, however we decided to go to the Harvester and then go and see Ant-Man afterwards. I am a big fan of Marvel films, so i couldn’t wait to find out what this was all about.

Scott Lang, a conman, must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor Dr Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his amazing invention, the Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. The ant suit has the ability to shrink in scale, but increase in strength. Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world. If this doesn’t seem as hard enough as it is, a few obstacles get in the way. With some help of Lang’s friends, will the plan be enough or are they too late?

I did really like this film and it matches up to the rest of the Marvel films. This really is the start of something new and I love how it hinted some things to come in the future. Number 1, there could easily be an Ant-Man 2 film. Number 2, if not an Ant-Man 2 film, maybe even an Ant-Woman film. Number 3, if anyone has watched the last avengers film, at the end of the film it shows them saying along the lines of them training up some new people to join the Avengers. I may be wrong but you get a glimpse of a new future superhero in the Ant-Man film. Very exciting! (I’m so boyish at times!)

If I was to be really critical of the film, it would be that the story is very straight forward, it doesn’t need to be complicated and this isn’t a bad thing however I guess to fill the time, they had to drag things out that they didn’t really have to drag out. The film is still just as good though.

My Film Rating: 9/10
