I couldn’t wait to see Pan, and when I heard my sister wanted to see it too, it was too tempting to ignore. Plus it meant I could have a tango iceblast because who doesn’t like them? They need to invent a machine I can use at home. I had heard really good things and so my expectations were quite high. Read on if you want to know if it lived up to them.
Just to make things clear, as I’ve heard some people get confused, Pan is the story before the film Peter Pan, it’s not a remake. Pan is about an orphan who is suddenly taken away one night, in a flying ship to the magical Netherland. He goes through periods of fun and danger. He makes new friends and also enemy’s, finds out about his past and finds out he can fly. In the end he will become the hero, forever known as Peter Pan, but to do this, he will need to prove himself first.
The effects are really good, and the impressive cinematography. From the flying pirate ship, to the small simpler things, you can’t argue that visually, it’s brilliant. Probably one of the best that your going to see on that part, this year. Levi Miller does a fantastic job at playing Peter Pan, for such a young actor and this won’t be the last time we’ll see of him.
I am disappointed to say though that the story falls quite flat. It just felt very rushed in placed. There are as many good reviews as bad, and I feel that people are being overly critical and quite frankly a bit harsh. I wouldn’t be out off by this, as the film is still worth a watch. Another thing is this film is set around the 50’s, yet in the film they sing Nirvana. As much as it sounded good, they weren’t around then.
My Film Rating: 7/10
A x
I did find the ending anti-climatic, but liked the film overall. I thought Levi Miller was amazing. And I loved Garrett Hedlund, even though some people didn’t. Great review.

Thank you, I also found the ending anti-climatic. I wonder if they’ll do a follow up. Levi has a lot of talent, I thought Hugh Jackman was pretty good too.

Yes, I almost didn’t recognize Hugh Jackman! In fact, I only did when he did an interview and I was like, no, that’s not him, is it? I loved him too.
