So on Saturday I had my sister round for the whole day and as a treat I took her to see the Minions film. Everyone has gone crazy towards the build up to the Minions and I must admit I was rather excited for it to come out. Here is my review on whether it leads up to the expectations or not.
If you haven’t watched it already, the film is about minions evolving through the ages, serving their masters through time unsuccessfully. Minions find themselves really depressed when they find themselves no master to serve. That was until a minion called Kevin had a plan. Kevin, Stuart and Bob venture out into the world to find a new master for everyone to follow. Through their journey they find someone who could be their next potential master, Scarlet Overkill. The first female super villain. This is when they face their biggest challenge to date in London.
With it being an animated film, its hard to talk about the acting as its all voice overs. Although I suppose its good that I wasn’t really paying attention to the actors, as that would mean I was bored. The voice overs suited the animated characters though and that’s all I can say.
What I like was the story line. In my opinion minions have taken over the country and the story line in the film, shows them almost taking over the county. This may just be a coincidence though. I also like how funny it is, there is a few adult jokes in there and when the minions is depressed, it is hilarious. This is something for everyone so be prepared to laugh out loud.
There was nothing really I didn’t like apart from it felt really short. I imagine this is because if it was a long film, kids wouldn’t be able to sit around long enough. I couldn’t help but think it would be cool if minions could speak english but the film is pretty faultless itself. Whether there would be a number 2 or not I don’t know.
My Film Rating: 10/10
